About Orthodox Explorers Club

As part of the ORTHODOX EXPLORERS CLUB, we ask questions, conduct experiments, and delve into our Faith as Orthodox Christians! We seek to be good stewards of God’s creation, and actively pursue those things that draw us nearer to Christ. BE CURIOUS, explore nature, and let’s share our learning with others!

Mia: I received a BS in Applied Biology from Kettering University, where I also participated in science outreach programs over the years. I was a research scholar, conducting phylogenetic studies on the bubonic plague. I worked in the medical field for almost five years, and my thesis focused on neonatal admission rates in the NICU. My last position was at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. However, I have decided to follow my true passion of being a wife and soon-to-be mother of two boys. I also enjoy teaching science lessons in our church's homeschool co-op!
Téa: I've always had a lifelong passion for science and the outdoors. In middle and high school I competed in Science Olympiad events pertaining to both anatomy and meteorology. In the summer of 2022, I worked at a summer camp with kids ranging from 4-18 years old, teaching in the science center. I recently graduated with my BSN from Spring Arbor University and passed my exams to become a registered nurse. Currently, I work in the oncology unit. I've also been involved in church youth activities and I love helping with vacation church school each summer!
